Road Trip!

We acatually stopped! On our very long road trip through the mid-west we stopped in St. Louis and Chicago.

Actually, our first stop was in somewhere in Missouri to see the world's largest rocking chair. Oh yeah!

In St. Louis we stayed in a hotel walking distance from the arch. The arch was amazing, it still blows my mind that people are courageous enough to build a strcuture that high. While in St. Louis we also went to Iron Barley, one of the Man vs. Food stops. After I watched the St. Louis episode of Man vs. Food I just knew I had to try the Monte Cristo Dog, and it was so worth it!

Iron Barley is a local resturaunt but boy was it packed! The place looks like it has been around for a while with the two seater booths and interesting flare on the walls. On the walls there were pictures of people from back in the day, iron skillets hanging everwhere, and just stuff they have been collecting for probably some time.

When the Monte Cristo Dog was placed in front of me I was SO excited to eat it! It was just like I imagned salty and sweet with the best tasting hot dog ever. I love you forever Monte Cristo Dog!

Our next stop was Chicago, I fell in love with that city. Well, after we finally made it to the hotel I fell in love. We drove through so much construction on the way to Chicago that we arrived during rush hour traffic. When we finally made it downtown the GPS went crazy, she, that's right I said she, kept taking us in circles. Finally, we gave up on the GPS and just followed the printed directions. It was an adventure to just get out of the car without getting ran over, I felt like Indiana Jones.

One night is all we had to take in the city, which was not enough time at all. Memorial Park was the destination we wanted to see the most. I loved the interactive fountains, the sculptures, and FREE music! My favorite part about the trip was the deep dish pizza, I can't help it I like food. The deep dish pizza was beyond my expectations in a good way, there was just extra of everything in the pizza. Delicious!

I enjoyed exploring parts of the U.S. that I have never been to before and I plan to take another road trip again.

What adventures?

In my lifetime, of 28 years, so far one lesson I have learned is to live your life to the fullest. There are so many things I have wanted to accomplish and do with my life. Some of those endeavours I have accomplished but there are many I haven't completed due to procrastination. I am tired of being a procrastinator! So, I have created this blog as a motivator, as a place to share my experiences and to prove anything can be done if you really try.

My husband and I have always wanted to take a road trip with multiple destinations instead of just driving straight through. I feel like I have missed some fun adventures by sleeping in the car for hours and watching the landscape of other cities and states pass me by. First mission of this blog is to stop in many destinations on a Very long road trip

Adventure #1 Road Trip - Austin, TX. to St. Louis, MO.; St. Louis, MO. to Chicago, IL.; Chicago, IL. to Jackson, MI. = approximately 1332 Miles

Then back home Jackson, MI. to Austin, TX.
